It’s not often that we fly these days, I mean Cheap flights are getting hard to come by, so I was a little rusty on what to do with my kids when we recently went on a flight to Johannesburg. Thinking about what to bring or how to prepare for a flight can be stressful, so I compiled this list with my tips for flying with children. Read the rest of this entry

We all have things we will never forget that our kids had said at some stage… I personally write everything down in my notes and even copy them to a little special book that I will show them when they are older. It’s something you just don’t want to miss as a parent, but as adults we all can appreciate the funny things these little creatures come up with.
I have asked Moms from groups combining around 200 000 members all across South Africa, what were the funniest things their kids said and they did not disappoint! Here are some of my favourites! Read the rest of this entry
This one is A3 size but you can set your printer for A4 if you wish to print smaller size. The one is for the wall as a poster and the other can be cut in the middle of the green lines to make flashcards.
The smaller file (250kb) can be printed A4 without quality loss but might be too small for a poster and way too small for flashcards. The low res A3 might be a little less on quality but still ok if it doesn’t bother you. Read the rest of this entry

I only just noticed that a Volcano is an upside down V… or an upside A… a pity it’s not called Alcono! Oh well since it’s called Volcano, you can help kids remember the V by telling them the upside-down thing.

We’ve certainly come a long way since the start of Facebook and Mixit and thank goodness people don’t really text that way anymore because seriously, just why? Thank goodness we have come this far or our Facebook post windows would still start with “Elsabé is….” causing our posts to start with half sentences.
I seriously don’t know when we will stop getting half memory posts of the early 2000’s starting with half sentences like “in the mood for baking cake…” or “thinking that the tennis is getting boring now with Djokovic hitting Read the rest of this entry
Ok I have to confess… I LOVE a glue gun and there are few craft things I won’t put together with it. This barnyard and finger puppets are no different. I know it would probably look so much prettier if it was stitched together like this Peppa Pig that I did on a Read the rest of this entry
